ZAMII 2026 Launched, Government Pushes for TangibleOutcomes in Mining Sector

Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Paul Kabuswe, has officially launched the 2026 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka (ZAMII) in Lusaka, with a strong call for the platform to deliver practical results that will transform the country’s mining sector.

Speaking during the launch, Hon. Kabuswe emphasized that the Insaka must go beyond dialogue and produce tangible outcomes, including increased investment, job creation, and strengthened participation in the mining value chain. He highlighted the importance of dedicated deal rooms, which are expected to facilitate actual business engagements and partnerships among stakeholders.

The Minister noted that platforms such as ZAMII play a critical role in fostering meaningful interaction between Government, investors, and private sector players, ultimately contributing to national development.

This year’s Insaka will be held under the theme: “Transforming Africa’s Mining Landscape: Regional Value Chains, Shared Prosperity & Empowering Communities.” The theme underscores Government’s commitment to building a mining industry that promotes inclusive growth, empowers local communities, and enhances regional collaboration.

The event is scheduled to take place from October 19 to 23, 2026, at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary, Hapenga M. Kabeta, has called on stakeholders and industry leaders to actively participate in the Insaka, stating that their involvement is key to unlocking opportunities within the sector.

ZAMII continues to position itself as a strategic platform aimed at driving investment and strengthening Zambia’s mining industry through collaboration and innovation.
