The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a safety warning regarding a voluntary recall of Isuzu RG19 motor vehicles in Zambia.
In a statement, CCPC Senior Public Relations Officer Florence Zaza said the recall, initiated by Isuzu Motors South Africa (Pty) Ltd (IMSAf) relates to Field Action 26FSL0080 and affects vehicles falling within the sales period of 11th May 2026 to 3rd July 2026.
“CCPC is therefore urging consumers who own Isuzu RG19 vehicles purchased within the stated period to contact an authorized Isuzu dealer to establish whether their vehicle is affected by the recall or not,” Zaza said.
IMSAf reports that the brake pedal pivot pin might be loose. If this happens, the pedal can wobble side-to-side when pushed, making it difficult to step down fully on the brake and lowering the vehicle’s stopping power.
According to Zaza, IMSAf’s recall is a precautionary safety measure, with no reported injuries or damages connected to the issue when the CCPC was notified.
She advised that affected vehicle owners will receive written correspondence from Isuzu regarding an upcoming inspection. Should corrective measures be required, they will be carried out by an authorized Isuzu dealership or service facility within Zambia.
“CCPC remains committed to safeguarding the interests and safety of consumers and will continue to monitor the implementation of product safety recalls in Zambia.”
