Hichilema to officially open 2026 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka today

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is today expected to officially open the 2026 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka (ZAMII), which is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants from Zambia and across the globe.

The five-day event, running from October 19 to 23 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, will bring together Government officials, investors, mining companies and development partners to explore investment opportunities and strengthen regional cooperation in the mining sector.

The Insaka is expected to attract special envoys of the Presidents of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Botswana, highlighting the growing importance of regional partnerships in advancing trade and investment.

Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Hapenga Kabeta said the participation of the two special envoys demonstrated the increasing significance of ZAMII as a platform for regional engagement and investment in the mining industry.

Other expected participants include representatives from the World Bank, European Union and African Development Bank, alongside business representatives from Australia, China and the United Arab Emirates.

The gathering is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss investment opportunities, promote partnerships and explore strategies for sustainable growth in Zambia’s mining sector.

ZAMII comes at a time when Zambia continues to pursue investment in its mineral resources and strengthen its position as a key player in the regional and global mining industry.
