Government launches Lady Livingston dinner cruise to boost high-value tourism in Livingston

The Government of the Republic of Zambia has officially launched the Lady Livingstone Dinner Cruise on the Zambezi River, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to diversify tourism products and enhance high-value visitor experiences.

The launch, officiated by the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Rodney Sikumba, MP, was held at the David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa and attended by senior government officials, diplomats, tourism stakeholders, and industry players.

Speaking during the launch, Hon. Sikumba described the new offering as a strategic addition to Zambia’s tourism portfolio and a reflection of growing investor confidence in Livingstone as the country’s tourism capital.

“This dinner cruise represents more than a new tourism product — it reflects the evolution of tourism experiences on the Zambezi River. It is a clear demonstration of how public-private partnerships can drive innovation, create jobs, and position Zambia as a premium destination for discerning travelers,” Hon. Sikumba said.

The Lady Livingstone offers guests a luxury dining experience set against the backdrop of one of Africa’s most iconic waterways, combining world-class cuisine, cultural performances, and sunset views of the Zambezi. The vessel is expected to attract high-value tourists and contribute to extended stays and increased visitor spend in Livingstone.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting investments that align with Zambia’s Tourism Master Plan and contribute to sustainable growth, job creation, and the empowerment of local communities.
