The Lusaka Business Expo and Indaba, organized by the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), has commenced at the Showgrounds to support the growth and success of MSMEs.

Held under the theme “Harnessing Technology for Inclusive Growth – Innovate, Integrate, Elevate,” this is the fourth edition of the event, running from May 22 to 23, 2025.

The expo aims to position Lusaka as a vibrant, technology-driven regional trade and investment hub, connecting markets within SADC, COMESA, and the Tripartite Alliance, which collectively serve over 800 million people.

Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Alexander Lawrence emphasizes that the event is pivotal in private sector development, policy advocacy, and economic transformation, with Lusaka capable of serving as a trade nexus from smallholders through processing stages to regional markets.

“This event is a critical pillar in our pursuit to position Lusaka as a dynamic, technology-driven and competitive regional, trade and investment hub, connecting markets across SADC, COMESA and the Tripartite Alliance – a combined market of over 800 million people,” (LCCI) President Alexander Lawrence said on the sidelines of the event.

Lawrence notes that technology is a crucial catalyst for unlocking opportunities across various sectors, including agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, aligning with Zambia’s broader economic vision.

He reiterates that the LCCI serves as a catalyst for private sector development, policy advocacy and inclusive economic transformation adding that Lusaka has the capacity to anchor trade flows from smallholders to processors and finally to regional consumers.

“This year’s theme aligns squarely with our Chambers’ mission and the economic vision of this country. We believe that technology is the game-changer that will unlock opportunities across all sectors, including agriculture, livestock and fisheries.”
