Lusaka is set to become a melting pot of cultures this weekend as more than 30 embassies and diplomatic missions prepare to showcase their countries at the 2026 Diplomatic Fun Fair.

The colourful event will take place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at the Lusaka Showgrounds, bringing together Zambia’s diplomatic community and members of the public for a day of cultural exchange, entertainment and international friendship.

Representatives of participating diplomatic missions held their final preparatory meeting ahead of the event, chaired by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador Hawa Hassan Mohamed.

The Diplomatic Fun Fair will give participating countries an opportunity to put their cultural heritage on display through traditional cuisine, music, dance, fashion, arts and crafts, games and storytelling.

Beyond entertainment, the event is expected to provide an opportunity for families, young people and the wider public to interact with different cultures and learn more about the countries represented in Zambia.

The Ministry of Tourism has commended the participating diplomatic missions and cooperating partners for their commitment to making the event a success.
