Airtel Zambia has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to community development, education, and digital inclusion following a recent courtesy visit by Managing Director Hussam Baday to Paramount Chief Mpezeni in Eastern Province.
The meeting focused on the role of connectivity and education in driving sustainable development, particularly in rural communities where access to digital tools and quality learning environments continues to shape opportunities for young people.
During the discussions, Paramount Chief Mpezeni praised Airtel Zambia for its consistent service delivery over the years, highlighting the company’s historical presence in the region. He noted that Airtel was the first mobile network provider to establish operations in Chipata and commended the network for maintaining reliable services for communities across Eastern Province.
The traditional leader also expressed appreciation for Airtel Zambia’s continued investment in education through its “Adopt-a-School” initiative. He specifically acknowledged the construction and refurbishment works carried out at Kamulaseni Community School in Chipata, describing the project as a meaningful contribution to the future of education in the area.
According to the Paramount Chief, initiatives that improve access to education create long-term benefits not only for local communities but for Zambia as a whole. He emphasized that investing in children today helps build a generation equipped with the knowledge, digital literacy, and skills needed to contribute to national development in the years ahead.
The engagement reflects Airtel Zambia’s broader focus on using technology and social investment to support communities beyond telecommunications services. As digital access becomes increasingly important in education and economic participation, partnerships between private sector players and community leaders continue to play a key role in expanding opportunities across the country.
Through projects centered on school infrastructure, connectivity, and digital inclusion, Airtel Zambia says it remains committed to transforming lives and supporting the next generation through access to education and technology.
