HH Meets King Charles III to Strengthen Zambia–UK Ties

President Hakainde Hichilema has held an official audience with His Majesty King Charles III this morning at Dumfries House, the King’s private royal residence in Glasgow.
The meeting marked a significant moment in Zambia–United Kingdom relations, with discussions centered on sustainable natural resource management and deepening bilateral cooperation.
According to a statement released by President Hichilema, the talks reflected shared values between the two nations, particularly the importance of living in harmony with nature—a principle long championed by King Charles.
The President emphasized Zambia’s commitment to forging strong partnerships with countries like the UK to secure development financing and drive initiatives that promote sustainable growth and job creation.
“We are sincerely grateful to His Majesty for his warm welcome, invitation, and gracious hospitality during our stay in Glasgow,” President Hichilema said.
Following the royal engagement, the Zambian delegation is set to continue to London for further discussions with investors and UK government officials.
The President expressed optimism that these engagements would yield tangible benefits for Zambians, reinforcing his administration’s focus on inclusive prosperity and international collaboration.
