Epiroc AB, a leading productivity and sustainability partner for the mining and infrastructure industries, has secured a major mining equipment order from Mopani Copper Mines Plc, reinforcing its position as a key partner in Zambia’s mining sector. Valued at approximately $20 million, the deal will see Epiroc supply advanced underground mining machinery aimed at improving productivity, operational efficiency, and safety at two of Zambia’s historic copper mines.

The order includes a fleet of Minetruck haulers and Scooptram loaders, which will be deployed at the Nkana and Mufulira mines, two cornerstone assets in Zambia’s copper industry with a legacy spanning nearly a century. The modern equipment is expected to significantly enhance production capacity and material handling capabilities, supporting Mopani’s efforts to scale output amid growing global demand for copper.

Beyond equipment delivery, Epiroc will also provide aftermarket service and technical support, ensuring long-term performance and reliability of the machinery. As Zambia continues to prioritize mining sector growth and increased copper production, partnerships like this highlight the role of technology-driven solutions in unlocking efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness across the country’s mining value chain.
