Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM) is showcasing its commitment to local enterprise development, supplier empowerment and the promotion of Zambian-made products at the Proudly Zambian Expo.

The Expo officially opened on 15 September 2026, bringing together government, industry and business stakeholders to celebrate, promote and create greater visibility for Zambian enterprises and locally produced goods and services.

Among the stakeholders visiting the KCM stand was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Crusivia Hichikumba, who interacted with members of the KCM team, including KCM Nampundwe Underground Manager Chola Mwambazi, KCM Nampundwe Plant Metallurgist Kaela Simwinga and KCM Nampundwe Corporate Social Responsibility Officer Paul Chanda.

At the Expo, KCM is highlighting a number of initiatives and local enterprises supported through its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.

Among the featured initiatives is the Leather Cluster, which demonstrates the company’s efforts to promote local skills development, enterprise growth and wider economic participation.

The company’s presence at the exhibition also highlights the broader impact of its support beyond the mining sector. Through partnerships with local businesses and communities, KCM is demonstrating how investment in local enterprise can help create economic opportunities, strengthen livelihoods and contribute to Zambia’s industrial development.

KCM’s participation in the Proudly Zambian Expo underscores its continued focus on supporting local businesses, strengthening local supply chains and promoting Zambian-made products as part of efforts to foster a more inclusive and resilient economy.
