The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) has officially handed over the Best International Exhibitor Award won by Zambia at the 2026 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo held in Masvingo, Zimbabwe.

The prestigious award is a major recognition of Zambia’s growing profile and competitiveness on the regional and international tourism stage, following the country’s strong showcasing of its diverse tourism attractions and products at one of Africa’s leading tourism trade exhibitions.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony, ZTA Chief Marketing Officer Amanda Mwendaweli Chipungu said the achievement reflects the Agency’s continued efforts, working closely with tourism industry partners, to position Zambia as a competitive and preferred tourism destination.

Ms. Chipungu said the award further demonstrates the growing interest in Destination Zambia and validates the Agency’s continued investment in innovative destination marketing initiatives under the Zambia Moves You campaign.

And Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Evans Muhanga, said the recognition demonstrates what can be achieved when Government and the private sector unite behind a shared vision for the development and growth of Zambia’s tourism sector.

Mr. Muhanga has since called on tourism industry players to build on the achievement by strengthening collaboration, improving tourism products and services, and converting Zambia’s increased international visibility into more tourist arrivals, investment and economic opportunities for local communities.

The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo 2026, held from 9 to 12 September 2026 in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, brought together tourism destinations, exhibitors, buyers, investors, media and tourism service providers on a major business-to-business platform aimed at showcasing tourism products, facilitating business exchanges and creating strategic partnerships.
